We always seem to have a love hate relationship, you want it long or short, wished it was curly or straight, you want no more grays ha! All these years we are always searching for the best products to keep our hair looking good, no matter the stage of life you’re in. Especially those first few months after having a baby when you never remember when you washed your hair or when the next time you will get wash it. That was one thing I always looked forward to. We have pulled some of our favorite products that we have loved over the years and some new items we started using and love!
1…Hair Tools

There are so many options when it come to tools to style your hair, straighter, curling irons or wands, blow dryers, automatic curling irons, crimper (ha you know you have used one), and so on. My favorite curling iron is the Hot Tools Curling Iron and Hot Tools Curling Wand and Jen’s is the Lange Titanium Curling Wand. The wands tend to hold curls a little longer and over a day or two. I use the curling iron if I’m in a rush or don’t want as full of a curl.
Our latest obsession has been the Revlon Oval One-Step Hair Dryer & Volumizing Styler! After using it, either wet or dry hair, you feel like you just stepped out of the salon. We were a little skeptical when we first heard about it so we tried it out for ourselves. It really gives you amazing volume that we all want and makes your hair so so soft!
2…Dry Shampoo
This may be the most important hair product you ever need! We have both tested a lot of dry shampoos and found a few favorites. My hair tends to greasy pretty quickly which was difficult when trying to find a dry shampoo. I found that my hair wouldn’t last as long or still look gross. The ones I use regularly seem to do the trick! I do rotate my dry shampoos, I feel they work better. Just like you switch your shampoos, you have to keep your hair guessing ha! Before bed I spray in some dry shampoo under the top layers then pull it up into a high pony. Not the most attractive thing but in the AM it comes out perfect. Another tip, I sometimes use this on my hair after I wash it, just before I curl it to help hold the curl.
3…Hair Texture and Thickening Spray
We all want thick looking hair and also hair that will hold some girl or glistening straight. In order to achieve that look sometimes we need a little help. Again, I have multiple favorites that I rotate. Sometimes I rotate these every few days instead of when the bottle runs out. The key to the best use of the spray is to apply it after you are done with your hair and apply it at angle, from the bottom to top and as you are pulling your hair away from you. I also use this instead of hair spray, I feel it holds the curl in better.
I did want to call out the Living Proof Body Builder spray is newer and OMG it’s amazing! You can control how thick you want your hair. I only apply this under the top few layers of my roots but wow, it really makes a difference!
4…Heat Spray
With using so much heat these days your hair needs a good heat spray! I typically do not dry my hair but when I do make sure to spay some heat spray before I blow dry. If I’m not going to blow dry then I apply it prior to curling or straightening. Again, I rotate between heat sprays and it really depends on what I plan to do with my hair. If I do blow dry my hair, I typically will use the Kenra Platinum Blow-Dry Spray. Otherwise if I’m curling or straightening then I use other heat sprays.
5…Hair Ties
We all need a good hair tie! There are so many on the market but we have pulled our favorites! If you watch our stories, I’m always rocking the spiral old key chain looking hair band, do you remember those?! When they first came out all I could think about was the old looking key chains. They are the best hair bands I have ever used. I have thick heavy hair which make pony tails hard to stay at the top of my head. These babies keep my pony or bun stay all day. I also use these at night since they do not tangle or crease your hair. I also use these on Pepin’s since her hair is silky smooth. Tip, when they expand, just put them in hot water or under the dryer and they will shrink back up!
We also love a good scrunchie! I never thought they would come back in style but they sure did! There are so many fun colors on the market and Amazon has packs of them for super cheap!
