During our most recent trip to Disney World we were able to utilize Prime Now. I’ve been dying to try it, but they do not currently deliver to my neck of the woods. Dear Amazon, if you are reading this, please consider delivering to Kansas, I’d be most grateful!
Our past trips to Disney World we have used Gardner Grocer. I have no complaints with them, I just found Prime Now to be so much easier and a better variety of items to order. From a pricing stand point it was also cheaper.
I usually try to pack a few snacks in our luggage, but sometimes it is more of a pain than it is worth. Since we are Prime members, I thought I’d check out Prime Now to see what my options were.
I was able to get my sons favorite yogurt from Whole Foods, our normal day to day snacks, bananas, breakfast bars, water (BUY WATER! You’ll get 24 bottles for the price of 2 at the parks or resort), wine, beer and White Claws (these are the best).
Once you get all your items in the cart, you can select your delivery times. Standard is a 2 hour window. Sometimes you can select 1 hour, but it will cost you a little more. For free delivery you need to place an order for $35 or more. One of ours was just under so it was $4.99 (still worth it). Just be sure to put the resort you are staying at in your delivery address vs. your home.
If you do not order any alcohol you can put a note in to deliver to bell services. If alcohol is ordered, you need to be present to receive it. They need to check your ID, so do not forget that when you go to get your packages.
You will get a confirmation email and an email once your items are out for delivery. You’ll receive a call from your driver when they are about 5 minutes out. They will meet you in your hotel lobby. You can also track your order, similar to tracking your Uber driver on their way to get you.
It was a very slick process. If my son was still in the diaper phase, I would have ordered them vs. packing (they take up so much space). Just think of the things you don’t want to pack and get them in your Prime Now cart. You will not regret it.
And…if you forget or need anything else Amazon will get it to you. Insert quick story: Each trip to Disney World my son gets to pick out a Lovie (ie stuffed animal). This trip he wanted Bolt, because he didn’t get him last time. We looked EVERYWHERE at the parks and Bolt was no where to be found. I checked the Disney Store online and he was sold out. I panicked and then thought, hey let me check Amazon. Sure enough, Bolt was waiting on there for his new home. I ordered him, he came to the hotel the next day and staff brought him to the room. Crisis avoided. When they delivered the box, we told our son Mickey had sent him a special package. Thanks Amazon 🙂
Let me know if you have any questions! Happy to help make your Disney trip a little easier so you can focus on all the fun stuff.
