Who’s ready for fall? I know I am! Who doesn’t love football, the trees turning, chilly nights and pumpkins! I love fall mainly for the beautiful colors and cozy sweaters! Sometimes the biggest challenge when switching into fall is trying to use what you have, but adding pieces that won’t break the bank for the season. Plus, it can still be a little warm before heading into the winter months. When shopping for fall, I stick to my capsule wardrobe (HERE is our post on a casual capsule) then add in pieces that I can wear for days it’s a little chilly or those warmer days but also get me partially through winter.
button down…
Button downs are great for layering over a dress, wearing open with a tank or just wearing it as is with knotting the front. They are so versatile, I love wearing them with leggings on the weekend too!
cardigans…
Who doesn’t love a good cardigan! They go with every outfit, can be worn dressed up or casual even extra casual with joggers! There are so many great ones this year and I love the duster version all the way to the cropped! I generally wear the cropped alone with high waited jeans or open with a tank under.
dresses…
I love a good basic dress and sweater dresses! Pair it with a cardigan or a button down and you are good to go. You can add a sweater over a dress to give you a different look. I also break out the booties and the boots, but don’t worry I still keep it casual on days with some sneaks 🙂
layering…
To get me through the fall to winter or even winter to spring, I grab some basic tanks, tee’s and long sleeve. These can be worn by themselves or paired with a button down or cardigan. I will even layer sweaters over and have the top peak out a bit to add a little color and dimension.
sweaters…
Sweaters are my favorite part of the fall and will get me through winter. They come in such great colors and styles. The color palette this year is so pretty!
sweatshirts…
My other favorite piece is a good ole sweatshirt! Perfect for those days where you are playing out in the leaves with the kids or tossing around the football during halftime. Or just running around. They look great with jeans, leggings and activewear.
Hope you find some great pieces to incorporate into your fall wardrobe!
