This past weekend we headed out to Cider Hill Orchard to enjoy the fall weather and pick some apples. They have 38 acres of fun which includes their apples, a pumpkin patch, an adorable gazebo, barn and so much more! Plus they have cider donuts, if anything go for their donuts, other yummy drinks and food! If you are needing a spot for family photos or any events, this would be an amazing location!
I will say the staff is super friendly and so family friendly! We walked up and they gave the girls apples to eat while we walked around. Engel dropped her apple at one point but I quickly followed the 5 second rule, brushed off a piece of grass and gave it back before she started to cry. She does not do good when she loses her food…#meltdown. We chose to walk, but don’t worry they do have tractor rides to the different apple trees.
The girls had so much fun picking apples from the trees! The apples were the perfect height for them. If you are short, like me, they do have apple picker sticks to help you get the ones that are out of reach. They still had plenty of apples left to pick so don’t worry about missing out!
They do provide the bags which is nice, and they are priced based on the size. We filled up one bag and that was plenty! I plan to make a some homemade apple sauce and apple butter (for those Apple Butter Old Fashion’s 🙂 ). Whatever I have remaining, I’ll make some apple pie too!
We plan to make this a family tradition to go to Cider Hill Orchard every fall for apple picking then coming home to make all the goodies!! We all had so much fun, a few tears (Pep got a little upset there was mud on her new rain boots) but overall, a great time!
Do you have any fall traditions? We’d love to hear what they are! Also, if you have any apple related recipes, let me know ha!
xoxo
