Months just keep on flying by. November ready or not, here we come. November is always such a fun month of the year. Everyone is starting to look forward to Thanksgiving, friends and family time. Stores are starting to look like Christmas. We may get a little snow fall and there are so many fun things in KC to do.
We have really loved putting this together for you each month. It has challenged us to step out of the box and try new things. We’ve done some fun events and been to some really amazing restaurants. You can look back at KC in September and KC in October to see the lists of year round activities and restaurants to try. KC is such a great place to live with so much to do and explore.
Here is what we have rounded up for us all for the month of November…enjoy!
Jurassic Quest – November 1st – 3rd
This family fun event looks amazing! It’s basically like a real life Jurassic Park well without the real dinosaurs. They have interactive dinosaurs including baby dinosaurs! There is also tons of dinosaur activities like fossil digging, dinosaur rides, bounce houses and more! We can’t wait to take the kids to this event.
Pig and Swig KC – November 9th 3-6p
Bourbon, Bacon and BBQ oh my! This is right up my alley. This is a 21 and older event, so you’ll have to leave the piglets at home. This event takes place at Power & Light District. Sounds like one I may have to check out!
Holiday Boutique – November 14-17
Enjoy a fun weekend of shopping and maybe even getting all your Christmas shopping done. Save $2 by getting your tickets online.
Holiday Open House – West Bottoms Shops November 16 9a-5p
Head down to the West Bottom Vintage shops to do some shopping and get in the Holiday spirit. The stores will be decorated for the holidays, serving goodies & drinks, as well as having some sales.
90th Evergy Plaza Lighting Ceremony – November 28th
I cannot believe this is something I have still not done. I hear you need to do this at least once. Putting this down as a reminder for myself.
Restaurants & Bars…
If you like restaurants that serve small plates, this is one to try. Everything looks really delicious and unique. The photos online are beautiful and I can’t wait to check it out. They drink menu also looks very tasty, added bonus.
I have read that this is the place to go for Korean traditional style fried chicken. They have various options and sauces to choose from. They look delicous. If fried chicken is not your thing, they have a lot of other Korean dishes to choose from. This one is going to be fun to check out.
No, I have not lost my mind, at least not yet. I know this isn’t a new up and coming place, but it’s moved so I wanted to highlight that 🙂 This is one of our favorite restaurants. We have celebrated many birthdays and anniversaries here. We have not yet made it to the new location, so I am excited to check it out. We ate at the previous location the last week they were open. It was a little bittersweet, but I know that the same great food and service will be in their new digs.
We love participating in events that give back, so we added this as a new section.
Goldfish Family Swim & Mingle – November 16th
This event is brought to you by the Emerging Leaders Council for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City.
Dinner on Ice & Live Auction at Silverstein Eye Center – November 19th
This event is brought to you by the Emerging Leaders Council for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City. This is a unique evening with dining experience on the floor of the area served by the Kansas City Maverick players. This event will be benefiting thousands of children and youth served by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City.
The ice terrace opens up November 1st and goes through March 8th. Get out there and enjoy some ice skating as a family.
They offer adult classes, kids classes and family classes. For the month of November they have the Turkey Cupcake Workshop. Looks like a lot of fun. You can make your Thanksgiving day desserts with your kids.
Well, here is another full month of ideas for everyone, us included. If there is an area you’d like us to research more, don’t hesitate to email. Happy Fall everyone!
