It’s February and the good news is, Punxsutawney Phil didn’t see his shadow so an early spring here we come. Sure hope that cute little fella is right. We are ready for consistent sunshine and no more snow.
January moved out as quick as it came in. With all the weather and recovery from the holidays, we didn’t get out to do much. Hoping that will change for this month. We found some fun events for this month as well as some more coffee shops to try.
Let us know if you checked anything out from our January, now on to February 😉
2020 KC Brew Fest – February 8th
This event is held at Union Station. If the Chiefs displays are still up, this could continue on the Super Bowl celebrations. This is a 21 and over event, so you’ll need to find a sitter for your little nuggets. Admission is $40 for GA and $50 for early admission. Basically gives you and extra hour for sampling. Your ticket includes your beer sampling from over 40 breweries with around 100 to try. Food on site for a cost. Be sure to have a friend pick you up or get an Uber. Prost!
Johnson County Home & Garden Show – February 21st – 23rd
Needing some inspiration for your house or your outdoor space, this is the perfect event. Good to get some motivation heading into the spring and summer. I need to go and get some outdoor living space ideas. Fun event for family as well.
PBR: PROFESSIONAL BULL RIDERS – February 29th – March 1st
Come check out the best bull riders in the world at the Sprint Center. Fun for everyone. We attended this event a few years ago and it was actually very fun and entertaining.
I have not had the opportunity to visit PT’s yet, but Mel has and raved about it. She said the coffee was great and an overall cool vibe. I can’t wait to check it out and see for myself.
This adorable coffee shop located in Fairway area. Coffee is great and they have a fun little outdoor area to sit if it’s nice. Parking can be a little tricky, but it’s worth it.
Wild Way Coffee takes its coffee out on the road in the warmer month. You can check in daily to see where they are going to pop up. Currently for the winter months they are located at their Warehouse in the Crossroads. It looks so cute and inviting. Mel has had their coffee at one of their pop up locations and loved it. We will need to venture to the Warehouse to check it out this month.
When I think of the zoo, for some reason I only think during summer time. Boy I am wrong, they have some many cool things going on year round. Lots of education opportunities for your kids. I want to check out King and Gentoo Penguin March with Banks. They have multiple dates and times in February.
Every Wednesday is family night at the Lenexa Public Market! Saaaay Whaattt!
Topp’d Lenexa Public Market has a family special where you get a free 6″ kid’s pizza with the purchase of at least a small pizza. They also have rotating activities from a balloon artist, specialty vendors, yard games and other family-oriented festivities! We enjoy this area in the summer time, but still can be fun in the colder months.
I have really been wanting do a cooking class. Sounds like such a fun time with friends or even a team building event with your co-workers. There are so many fun ones to try. From crock pot & instapot, to sushi making, pastas and even cake making. The list goes on.
Well, hope we gave you a few ideas for this month. Keep us posted if you try anything out and we will update you are what we partake in.
