I didn’t think we’d make it to Disney World in 2020 but on a whim last week, we rebooked our tripand here we are! This one was a little sad for me to write because we were suppose to go to Disney back in April. We absolutely love Disney, I mean it’s the happiest place on Earth! I had been scouting out tons of cute Disney outfits for my next trip to Disney World, only to have our trip cancelled due to coronavirus. This will be the 8th time ever Disney World has closed and we’ve been affected by it twice. We were at Disney World when Hurricane Irma hit. I do have to say the day before the parks closed was the most fun we’ve had at Magic Kingdom. There were no lines and we rode rides like crazy. I think we rode Peter Pan 7 times in a row. If you’ve been to Disney you know that’s a milestone as that ride jumps up to around 60 minute waits as the parks opens. I’m a little envious of the people that got to enjoy the day before the parks closed, as I’m sure it was a day of pretty small crowds and lots of rides to be had.
I know this had to be a tough decision for Disney in all of their closures, but of course seems like the best thing to do with our current state. Although I am sad and disappointed we weren’t able to go earlier this year, my heart goes out to the people that had their trip cut short, the people who had to cancel and it was their first time to be going, parents having to tell their children they don’t get to go to the happiest place on earth and all of the people who work for Disney. We are very fortunate for a few things. 1. We are so blessed to have already taken many wonderful trips there. 2. We know we will rebook our trip once things settle down and 3. We did not tell Banks we were going. That one is huge. I know he would have been devastated and not quite understand the why. He’s only 5, so this would have rocked his world haha.
I know our trip and many others were cancelled, but so many people have trips planned there this summer and fall so I feel it’s my duty to still share my Disney fashion finds. I am definitely an athleisure wear kind of person for Disney. There is no need for anything fancy, even at dinners. You are outside all day which in Florida means you are most likely sweating and potentially getting rained on haha. I see some really cute instagram influencers all glammed up for a day at the parks, so if you are looking for that, this is not the blog for you.
It is fun to find cute Disney shoes, but I also recommend that they are comfy. You are doing a lot of walking during your trip and will really be hating life if you don’t have a good shoe. The start of a blister and the beginning of your trip is the absolute worst.
I know these are not Disney themed, but they are by far the most comfortable shoes I have worn at Disney. Highly recommend and they are super cute!
Fanny Pack/Belted Bags
This is a must for Disney. You are running from ride to ride and it’s nice to have a small bag that fits the essentials and your phone.
There are a lot of places to find cute Disney shirts. I am usually on the hunt for unique ones. Etsy always has a lot of great ones, however shipping can be really expensive and returns can be difficult. Keep that in mind while looking on Etsy. PS Box Lunch is killing it with their Disney clothes.
Tee’s are very versatile so they can be worn after the parks. Especially with everything going on, when you walk into Target and some little kiddo recognizes the character on your shirt, it makes you smile.
Always good to have a long sleeve shirt or light jacket on hand if you get cold in restaurants or when it cools off at night.
I’m not sure we’ve ever been to Disney without having some kind of rain and we’ve been all different months. So…I highly recommend a lightweight raincoat.
My Favorite Shorts
Short are a must, it’s about the only time I won’t wear joggers or leggings, unless we’re back at the hotel.
Hope you enjoyed this and it gave you some ideas/options for your next Disney trip. If you are headed there soon, be sure to tell Mickey hi for me 😉
