Fall is always a good time to update some of your makeup and nail polish. As we switch to cooler weather, we start to lose that tan and it’s time to adjust our color palettes.
I read multiple fashion articles looking at all the predicted fall trends for makeup and nail colors. I didn’t pull all of the trends as some of these just aren’t in our wheel house. There are some fun eye trends with neons and bright colors, I just don’t see either of those being our day to day look ha! Can you imagine me showing up for a zoom call with hot pink eye shadow…eek!
Here are the trends we plan to try this fall with some budget friendly picks. Items that can easily be found at your local Walmart, Target and a few picks from Ulta, because they truly cover every price range.
all-over highlighter…
You might have thought that highlighters are only used for the summer to highlight that tan or dewy skin. Highlighters can be great for the fall and winter months to help give your dry or dull skin a little bit of a glow. It can really help add some dew and life back into your skin. Add to cheek bones, nose, cupids bow and get that glow back. Here are a few to try.
nude lips…
Nude lips look great on everyone. They are perfect for a fancy night out or just your day to day. I also feel like makeup companies right now are making so many shades so you can find the perfect one for your skin color. We know a nude lip color is going to be different for everyone’s skin tone so we are just going to pull a few cost friendly lipsticks that have good color ranges.
lip stains…
Lip stains are nice to give you that longer lasting lip color throughout the day. Something I really like to wear for work days, however don’t need those too much while being at home. They are also great for that night out on that town. You can eat and drink without have to worry about reapplying your lips constantly. Here are some brands we both like. I’m totally buying the Clarins Water Lip stain!
mauve lips…
Mauve is such a pretty color and there are many variations, so there is sure to be a shade of mauve for you. I saw one at Walgreens today called spicy mauve, so pretty. It definitely gives you a little extra color, but isn’t over powering which I love. Here are some great shades of mauve to try.
pink blush…
So excited to see pink blush as a trend. I tend to move to a pink blush in the fall to blend a little better with my pail no tan face, ha. Pink is a color that works on all skin tones and there are many variations. Here are a few to check out. The Nars is a little on the higher end, but has been a long time favorite of mine.
nail colors…
I love fall colors and having them on your nails, even better! They are always so rich and dark. I tend to gravitate towards the darker nail color or a nude. The colors you will be seeing are mauve, all the autumn rich colors, grays, blues, metallics, wine and dark green. Here are a few we can’t wait to try. Scooping up the 6 pack for sure.
Hope this gave you a little jump start in updating some of your beauty products for the fall. So grab your sweater, leggings, comfy sneaks and get to shopping.
