Well, 2020 sure has been a rough one for everyone, but I tell you these months keep zooming by haha. It’s September which means it’s time for new cocktails, but more importantly…fall cocktails.
We both love fall. The changing of leaves, football (well for some of you, us poor Nebraska fans will have to wait till next year), apple cider, cozy sweaters and everything pumpkin spice. I just hope it will be a nice long fall, because if any of you have been reading the news the farmers almanac is predicting a really bad winter…aaahhh!
I am sneaking in one drink that is not fall into the mix, because it is just too good not to share. The rest will be ready for that fall palette of yours!
Drum roll please…
Garden Cherry Bourbon Smash…
Holy moly this is good! Over the next couple of weeks grab those bing cherries from the grocery store while you can. I found this recipe from Half Baked Harvest. I probably make something from Half Baked Harvest weekly. Tieghan’s recipes are amazing. I still have not mastered how to make them look as pretty as hers, but man they taste good. This drink is probably the favorite of all have had made at this point. If you are not a bourbon lover, you can sub tequila or vodka. Please try this one out, you will not regret it.
Fig Bourbon Cider Smash…
Ok, just one more from Half Baked Harvest. This one sounds so good and looks really pretty with the fig garnishes. It is sure to get you in the fall spirit. I just love apple cider and it pairs so well with bourbon. Excited to try this one out with my favorite apple cider from Louisburg Cider Mill. The cider mill is located in Louisburg, Kansas. Their cider is so good and 100% Apple Cider (not from concentrate). Check it out if you live in the area.
Blood Orange Blackberry Rum Punch…
This drink looks absolutely beautiful and of course sounds delicious. Found this recipe from Heather Christo. If you are having guests over for some fall fun, sometimes it’s easier to have a drink made in a batch. This one is sure to be a crowd please. As soon as you see those blood oranges come into the grocery store, be sure to scoop them up for this drink.
Pumpkin Spice Moscow Mules…
You didn’t think we’d leave out something pumpkin spice did you??? This mule is sounds like pumpkin spice and everything nice, ha! Found this recipe from Freutcake. The recipe calls for pumpkin puree so it’s got to be good right?! So excited to try this one and enjoy a fall evening by the fire.
I’d say this looks like a pretty strong line up for September. We are ready to get to making these and sharing our feedback. As always, let us know if you try any out or have any suggestions for October.
xoxo
